Nicki Minaj deactivated her Twitter account

Nicki Minaj deactivated her Twitter account

As of Friday afternoon (April 20), Nicki Minaj has been absent from Twitter for five days, keeping the Barbz on a sharp lookout for her return.
Minaj deactivated the account in a fit of frustration on Sunday, but during her current press run in the U.K., she admits that she’s still pondering if or when she will get back on the social media site. In an interview with Graham Norton, Nicki explained that one of the many personalities in her head — we’re assuming it wasn’t Roman this time — told her to quit Twitter.
“A voice in my head told me to delete my Twitter and that’s what I did,” she said, adding, “I had 11 million followers and I hope they will wait for me.”
Nicki disappeared from Twitter over the weekend after getting into a spat with one of her fan sites, NickiDaily, which she took issue with for posting leaked music from her Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded album. “Like seriously, it’s but so much a person can take. Good f—ing bye,” she wrote before signing off indefinitely.
Kaka to Be World’s First Athlete with 10 Million Twitter Followers

Kaka to Be World’s First Athlete with 10 Million Twitter Followers

Brazilian soccer star Kaka is on the verge of becoming the world’s first athlete to amass10 million followers on Twitter.

The midfielder, who plays for Spain’s Real Madrid club team, was about 30,000 followers short of the milestone as of late Monday afternoon. If Kaka maintains his recent pace, his @KAKA account should hit eight figures within the next day or so. He added more than 35,000 followers in a single day twice during the past week, according to the stats site TwitterCounter.com.
While Kaka rules the Twittersphere of sports, he’s just 17th on the overall list of most-followed tweeters. Lady Gaga and Justin Bieber — the network’s first and second-most popular users — count more than 20 million followers apiece.
Kaka’s Real Madrid teammate Cristiano Ronaldo is the second most-followed athlete on Twitter. He’s 21st overall, and has just under nine million followers. Retired NBA player Shaquille O’Neal is the only other sports figure among the network’s 60 most popular users. O’Neal has 5.5 million followers, good for 55th overall.

Many Celebrities Cause Problems When They Tweet Irresponsibly

Many Celebrities Cause Problems When They Tweet Irresponsibly

Just as social media is growing, celebrities and their PR firms are also realizing how important it is for them to be on Facebook, Twitter, MySpace and other such social networking platforms. Through these accounts, often celebrities or someone for them from their managements, update a status or tweet to let fans and followers know what is new that they should know about. It is proving to be a good marketing tool.
For those who use their social networking accounts themselves are able to build a genuine fan following online. But most of them are still to learn how to especially tweet responsibly. Some of the celebrities have even said to pay to gain more followers by asking social media marketing companies for it. However, regardless of how many followers they have on a site like Twitter, they do get into trouble dependently on their own by tweeting something which is questionable.
A prank that Justin Bieber played by posting first nine digits of a random phone number, which was actually located in Texas, and claimed that his followers can call him by simply finding out the right last digit. The phone rang to other people who were obviously distressed with the situation. Justin might face a lawsuit for this breach of privacy.
Many others also have gotten into trouble like Ashton Kutcher who would not know what to tweet about a person accused of child abuse. For such people as him who do not have a clear idea about values in life and have a big mouth to say whatever they want to, should remain away from social networking altogether

Twitter Now Supports Urdu, Farsi, Arabic

Twitter, a micro-blogging site yesterday announced its support for 4 right to left languages, that are: Urdu, Farsi, Arabic and Hebrew.
With help of 13,000 volunteer contributors, Twitter was able to extend its support for the languages for North Africa, Middle east and South East Asia.
Twitter now comes in Arabic, Farsi, Hebrew, & Urdu
Twitter had been working on translating and localizing these right-to-left languages since January 25.
These languages posed unique challenges for Twitter. To overcome technical barriers, Twitter’s engineering team had to build a new set of special tools to ensure that these tweets, hashtags and numbers would behave as their counterparts in left-to-right languages.
Adaptation of Urdu language for twitter won’t be sudden, in fact pattern is likely to remain the same as it is for the availability and readability of Urdu Vs. English content in Pakistan.
With addition of these four new languages, Twitter said it supports 28 languages – five out of which are right to left.
Tip: To set your Twitter language to Urdu, go to Twitter Account -> Setting ->Language
