Telenor Pakistan Ranked the Most Socially Devoted Brand on Facebook

Telenor Pakistan has said that it has been ranked as the most socially devoted brand on Facebook in Pakistan for the month of October.

Telenor claimed this citing a study that was carried out by Socialbakers, a global social media and digital analytics company with customers in 75 countries.

According to the Q3 regional report released by Socialbakers, Telenor Pakistan’s Corporate Facebook page has shown the highest response rate for the month of October.

The average response rate is calculated by number of questions brands answered minus question that went unanswered on its Facebook wall. Telenor Pakistan’s response rate for the month of October stood at a staggering 93%.

Just to explain, it merits mentioning here that Telenor is not the top “Talked About” brands of Pakistan on Facebook. Instead, Telenor Pakistan is ranked first for responding to most number of the questions coming from its fans (customers).

Talking about the significance of social media, Director Marketing Usman Javaid said, “Social media is an important tool in engaging with the customers. It gives us a chance to directly interact with our customer base and I am pleased to see that we are not only highly responsive but have been acknowledged for our efforts on a global level. We are committed to our customers and will continue to provide quality services through each and every channel available to us.”

Telenor has said that Djuice, Talkshawk and Easypaisa were also ranked 3rd, 4th and 5th respectively on the charts, further illustrating Telenor Pakistan’s commitment to customer care using the social media channel.

Telenor Pakistan and its different brands have over 850,000 fans in total on Facebook and the average number of fans that are added every day is close to 680.

Mobile service could be shutdown during Eid al-Adha: Malik

Islamabad: Pakistan Interior Minister Rehman Malik has said that mobile service could be shut down for few hours in several parts of the country during Eid al-Adha due to security concern.

Talking to media Tuesday, the interior minister said that the foolproof security arrangement will be made for the Eid al-Adha. He added that the mobile service could be shutdown in few areas of the country due to security concerns.

He said that the banned outfits would not be allowed to collect hides of sacrificial animals forcefully, adding that the provincial authorities had been directed to take strict actions against the outlaws.

The minister said that the government had foiled few terror bids with the help of media. “We have identified and captured few terrorist with the help of video footage provided by the few media organizations.”

He criticized Nawaz Sharif, the PML-N chief and Shahbaz Sharif, the Punjab chief minister, for not accepting the Supreme Court of Pakistan’s verdict in Asghar Khan case. “PPP leaders were dragged in the court in Nawaz Sharif’s era.”

He said that the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) and its leadership respect the judiciary, adding that they had accepted every decision of the courts.

Warid Launches Twitter SMS Service

After other celcos like Mobilink, Telenor, Ufone and Zong now you can configure your TwitterAccount to get status updates and direct messages on your Warid number by SMS.

Twitter recently partnered with Warid to allow its customers to be able to use Twitter via SMS, while Warid user after the integration of their mobile devices with Twitter accounts can perform all necessary tasks to operate their Twitter account by text messages.

How the Service Works?

If you have already a Twitter account then login to your Twitter account, then follow these steps:

Ufone acquire Rozgar Microfinance Bank and deal has been matured for handsome price deal, initially Ufone management was thinking to purchase healthy percentage of stacks in the bank but finally purchase the 100% shares. Telenor Postpaid Mobile Internet Charges Increased

Telenor Pakistan has increased mobile internet charges for its postpaid subscribers by 20 percent for some packages and up to 25 percent hike others.

New mobile internet bundles offered to postpaid customers will be as following:

35MB at Rs. 90
100MB at Rs. 250
2GB at Rs. 600
Default Charges: Rs. 1.13+tax

Charges were increased already but customers were not communicated about it. – in face a message posted on Telenor’s website, without indicating the prices, reads:

It is informed to all business customers that Telenor will revise internet charges for Telenor business and Telenor corporate customers from 16th July 2012.
