Bob Woolmer was Reading Quran to Revert to Islam before his Death

Reverting to Islam is something that has always been part of cultural exchange that takes place between Muslims and non-Muslims. Bob Woolmer was no stranger to Pakistan. Being the coach of Pakistan’s cricket team at the time of his death, he was very familiar with the religion of Islam and Muslims. He had seen cricketers pray, some of them five times a day. It was a disciplinary act, which was ritualistically done, that he must have been touched by besides other things about Islam and Muslims.
In a recent interview, Shahid Khan Afridi revealed for the first time that Bob Woolmer wanted to revert to Islam. Reversion means going back to the former way or the former correct path. Since in Islam, it is believed that every soul that has been born on this earth is pure and hence a Muslim – a believer in one true God – it is the environment and parental heritage that makes a child naturally adopt a religion of his or her parents in most obvious cases. It is later that the Light of Truth is seen by them that they revert back to their original Path, known as the Straight Path to God.
Bob Woolmer suddenly died of a heart attack while on a Cricket World Cup tour in Jamaica in 2007 at the age of 58. His sudden death raised suspicion amongst the law-enforcement agencies and the Pakistani cricketers had to go under a test to get their names cleared of any mischievous involvement in what at the point in time seemed a possible murder.
His death however was ruled out to be completely natural and due to heart conditions he was facing. He was an atheist, but before passing from this world, Bob started reading Quran with an understanding toward it. After all, finally he realized the Way to the Lord, and his realization would be accepted if God be-Willing.
